It all started in 1979...

Paul Cisco, company founder and President of Midwest Equipment and Espresso Specialists, began his career in the coffee business working for Butternut Coffee in 1979. He started the trade in coffee machine maintenance, and also learned the art of coffee roasting and flavor-profiling. Paul's demeanor and expertise made for his personal service to come into high demand. He became well-known by his clients for his quick sense of humor, an efficient approach to accurate diagnoses and repairs, and by his family for the free donuts and meals that his close connection with customers and restaurateurs earned him.

Butternut left Omaha in 1984 (and for those who remember, the remaining building burned down in 2004 during renovation). Paul continued building his skills while working with Omaha-based coffee service providers and roasters. Then, in June 1998, Paul and his wife, Linda, purchased a small coffee repair business from Bob Janecek, a retired county sheriff and jack-of-all-trades. From there, Paul was able to create a business offering his expertise in all things coffee, with a concentrated focus in the field of espresso brewing, to Omaha and the surrounding area. Paul and Linda ran the business together for many years before going into semi-retirement, staying involved with the business remotely from any number of campgrounds in the area. Almost 20 years later, Midwest Equipment and Espresso Specialists remains a family run business with their daughter, Jenn, and son, Jeremy.

The company is still run with the same philosophies held so important to Paul, offering quick and reliable service, as well as a level of expertise in the fields of coffee and espresso that is unmatched. We provide sales and service of all major (and many obscure) manufacturers of coffee and espresso equipment. We also offer consultation and advice if you are looking to open your own coffee or espresso bar. Please contact us for any level of your coffee needs.
